Welcome to the Fort William & District Branch - Royal British Legion Scotland Website

This website is designed to give the visitor a brief introduction to the Legion Scotland but more specifically it is designed to advertise the activities of the Fort William & District Branch to Members, Ex-Service Personnel and the general public within the Lochaber area. It also serves as the conduit by which visiting members of other branches may contact us.

THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION SCOTLAND

The Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS) was founded in 1921; it now uses the trading name of Legion Scotland and consists of nearly two-hundred branches and within those branches most members have served in HM Armed Forces while others have family or associate membership.

The aims of Legion Scotland are to: provide care for former Service personnel; remember and honour those who have died in the service of their country; educate the public as to the duty of remembrance and our obligation to care for survivors and to provide free representation at Pensions Tribunals; hence our motto:

"Service Not Self"

Legion Scotland achieves this by holding social events and ceremonial occasions; barbeques, dances and outings plus best-kept war memorial competitions and other public events. But above all Legion Scotland is a social organisation where like-minded people can meet.
